Introduction to Building Embodied Cultural Competency

This session is an introduction to somatics/embodiment and cultural competence. In the session, participants will be led in a centering practice, and we will discuss our relationship to and the benefits of engaging in somatics/body-based awareness-building.

**Please note - Untapped Leaders sessions are currently dedicated to BIPOC-identifying participants.

We will dive into Intercultural Competence (our capability to shift perspective and adapt behavior to cultural differences and commonalities). We will explore embodiment strategies as people move from monocultural mindsets to intercultural mindsets.

Note: You will be provided information about how to take the Intercultural Development Inventory and receive personalized results at an additional cost. (Optional!)

As a result of attending this session, you will:

  • Developing a curiosity for somatic awareness and intercultural competence

  • Learning a centering practice to support people in returning to a place of openness, presence, and connection.

  • Building connection with colleagues interested in building effectiveness across cultural differences and similarities

Untapped Leaders brings together Black, Indigenous, Latinx/a/o, Asian, South Asian, Pacific Islander, MENA and otherwise marginalized leaders from across industries to learn from each other through weekly facilitated leadership workshops and small-group peer coaching sessions, plus a diverse network of members committed to each others’ success.

Members enjoy unparalleled access to expert career coaches via weekly live sessions + on-demand access to all session recordings + ongoing chat support, all for under $10/session.
